Video review: Twisted Metal is hitting PS3 on October 4

Today Eat Sleep Play Co-Founder David Jaffe released the news that Twisted Metal will login PS3 this October 4,he also released two videos about it. here is the details.

To quote: David Jaffe here - I’m the co-director and co-lead designer of the new Twisted Metal for PS3!

I know we’ve been kind of quiet about the game since our super secret E3 press conference surprise, but all that ends now!

GTTV just launched our latest trailer on last night’s episode on SpikeTV. Did you see it?!?

The trailer - called BROKEN - has brand-new gameplay footage as well as a first look at some shots from our live action, in game-cinematics!

I gotta be honest with ya’ll: I had NO IDEA how the live action stuff was gonna turn out, but MAN am I super amped! I think it’s pretty sweet! Take a look, let us know if you agree. And the fresh Twisted Metal news doesn’t stop there!

In a few days we’re meeting with press from all over the world to unveil two brand new levels of the game. At that very same press event, we’re letting folks go hands on - for the first time! - with Twisted Metal‘s super-unique NUKE mode. We’ve made some core design changes since we last talked about NUKE (at E3) and we’re very eager/anxious/excited to see what people think.

But wait - there’s more! Next week we’ll also be unveiling BATTLEWAGON! What/who the hell is Battlewagon? Just the coolest, baddest-ass vehicle ever to dominate the car combat landscape!

This is a vehicle that myself, Scott Campbell (the game’s other co-lead designer/game director) and Kellan Hatch (Eat Sleep Play’s Creative Director) have been wanting to put in a Twisted Metal game since we made the very first one back in 1995. I think it’s gonna give Sweet Tooth’s ice cream truck a damn fine run for its money!

"Holy cow, Jaffe," you say, "that’s amazing!" Yes…yes it is! But wait…there’s EVEN MORE! Wha?!?! Really?!?! HAI!!!!! Because ya see: a few days after our press event, we’ll drop the EXTENDED cut of last night’s TWISTED METAL launch trailer! This new trailer dives a bit deeper into the character stories of Sweet Tooth, Dollface, and Mr. Grimm.

The new cut also gives a bit more info on just what that creepy tower at the end of last night’s trailer is all about. And we may even get our first glimpse of Calypso, the sinister mastermind behind all the pain, suffering, and chaos of the Twisted Metal contest. And that is JUST in the next week!

From now until our launch date - OCTOBER 4th, 2011 - we’ll be showing more and more of our hand in hopes that ya’ll are going to be just as jazzed and excited for this new Twisted Metal as we are! We can’t wait to hear what you all think! Thanks for reading and giving our game your time! David ps. oh yeah, watch the video. You’ll get an update on that Sweet Tooth action figure give away from last Christmas.

Didn’t even mention one of the coolest parts! We’ve just announced our launch date: October 4th, 2011! See…I TOLD ya’ll we were hitting this year!

Video of InFamous 2: The Quest for Power on PlayStation 3

Today Sucker Punch Productions' Brian Fleming released a video of spotlighting InFamous 2: The Quest for Power on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.  Here is the details.

Today I’m here to talk about everyone’s favorite topic: powers! More specifically, how does Cole manage to improve on is already impressive set of electrical abilities?

For those of you who don’t know the original inFAMOUS story, Cole’s electrical powers appear when he’s caught in the blast of a mysterious device called the Ray Sphere.

Cole gains more and more abilities, becomes more and more powerful, and survives the gauntlet of Empire City... but he also is given a glimpse into his future. He realizes that even at the height of his powers, he is no match for the challenge that awaits. A battle with a great Beast looms, and Cole isn’t ready to face it.

So in inFAMOUS 2, Cole travels South to New Marais to trace a path to the man behind the Ray Sphere technology, Dr. Sebastian Wolfe. With buddy Zeke riding shotgun, they set off to find the key to the next step in Cole’s evolution and a new level of power- powers that will be necessary if Cole hopes to survive the upcoming battle.

When Cole and Zeke eventually track down Dr. Wolfe, he explains that over years of experimenting, he had isolated the specific type of energy responsible for all genetic mutations. Dr. Wolfe’s technology-like the Ray Sphere-was all created to concentrate and manipulate this energy. To most people a dose of this mutative energy is fatal-but for a small fraction, the energy unlocks their untapped potential. These rare individuals are called Conduits, and of course Cole is one of them.

Wolfe has also developed a device-called a Blast Core-which can store this type of energy safely for an extended period of time... Over the years, he’s built and charged six of these Blast Cores.

So to continue his evolution, Cole will need to locate these all-important Blast Cores, and absorb their energy into his body. But Wolfe fears the Blast Cores will fall into the wrong hands, so he has moved them to safe locations around the city - and Cole will have to hunt them all down.

Of course our story will take some important twists and turns along the way, we’ll meet other Conduits, and as in the original inFAMOUS game, your choices about what kind of person you are. But no matter which path Cole follows, one thing remains the same: without the Blast Cores he won’t survive.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes will be available on April 12, 2011

This morning Capybara Games Co-founder and President Nathan Vella releasd a video of Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes , and he also announced thatthis game will be available on PSN on April 12, 2011.

Here is the quote:

: Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is our HD love letter to the original game that we released in 2009 to acclaim and awards.

It’s not often that you get the chance to remake your own game, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring this gem to a whole new audience: you guys! By now most people know about Clash of Heroes’ engrossing campaign mode, its innovative puzzle-strategy gameplay, and its tense turn-based battles.

But what few realize is that those battles are even better when your facing off against your friends (or some random stranger who has an ass-whupping coming to him). So that’s why Might & Magic Clash of Heroes is dropping with full local and online multiplayer, in either 1v1 or 2v2 flavours.

Not content to simply juice up the multiplayer mode and port the game over, we decided to redo the game from scratch with all new 2D HD art, hand-drawn by the same talented crew of artists that brought you the lush visuals of Critter Crunch.

Now you’re up to speed on why Clash is jumping from handheld to console, but what’s it actually about? There’s two core components to Might & Magic Clash of Heroes: Battles and Adventure. Let’s take a bit of time to dive into each one.

Battle gameplay is the heart and soul of the Clash of Heroes experience, combining turn-based strategy and puzzle gaming.

In Clash of Heroes, you can grab units from the end of each column, and place them at the back of any new column – just like how you moved critters around with Biggs’ tongue in Critter Crunch! Go on the offensive by matching three of the same units vertically, or build defensive walls by matching three (or more) of the same units horizontally.

That’s the meat of the battle system, but trust me, there’s tons of gravy. Rarer and more powerful units get added to the mix, bringing with them special attacks and abilities. Also in your magical toolbox of magic are Hero Spells, your hero’s special attacks that have different attributes, and when triggered at strategic times, can turn the tide of a battle.

Clash of Heroes may have puzzle roots, but players will need to start thinking ahead, watching their opponents, and formulating a strategy if they hope to stay alive on the battlefield–all while keeping their puzzle-y eyes sharpened for potential combos!

Battle may be the guts of Clash of Heroes, but it’s got some mean adventuring as well.

Clash of Heroes takes place across the varied lands of Ashan, and over the course of five campaigns, you’ll take five distinct young characters and mold them into heroes through the heat of battle. Lots of battles!

While adventuring, you’ll meet tons of kooky characters, find chests full of loot and wind up facing off against enemies of all kinds, leveling up your hero in the process. You can power through the game’s main quests, or choose to stop along the way to take optional side-quests, or make some extra coin bounty hunting, or even solve some Critter Crunch-style puzzle-mode battles!

Well, that’s enough blabbering for one post. In case you can’t tell, we at Capy are ultra-excited to unleash Clash of Heroes, and hopefully we’ll be back again soon to continue yelling at you over the internet about how proud we are of the game. See you April 12th folks!
